SoCal, SO GOOD!

Everyone knows that we are not very fond of weekday weddings for the simple fact that not many flowers are available, but Lady Luck was smiling upon us last Tuesday when we had to make a bouquet for a Tagaytay wedding. Sure, there are the usual suspects (roses among them) but what do you know, our importer decided to surprise us with poppy pods (Papaver sp.) & Dahlia, two items from our dream list!

We matched these with wild wheat, pretty Callisthepus (our first time to use this, too!), our perennial favorites, Snapdragons & Eucalyptus leaves, and leaves of a local plant called Luningning. Still have to look for the botanical name of that last one, but it makes any bouquet come alive instantly! We also added a single yellow Leucospermum, just so that it won't feel so lonely in the fridge. Because of this wedding, we officially return to our SoCal roots after making so many formal bouquets lately. We're back to the loose, the feminine, & the exciting textures! Yey!

Our DIY team, {etc} Handmade Goodness, also sent a pretty fabric boutonniere for the Groom, which added to the cheer that the bouquet already brought. All's well that ends well! ^_^
