AT LAST, AN ORIGAMI BOUQUET!

It was bound to happen: an origami bouquet had to be made in this day and age where everyone wants something new every time. The age of arts and crafts in weddings has definitely arrived! I remember when someone inquired with us before for a paper bouquet with chocolates, we still weren't ready but really, no regrets.

And thanks to friends, Puy & Chie of Really Awesome Weddings, we were able to launch our very first origami bouquet in one of the most vibrant of Asian cities: Hong Kong! How totally apt for a truly Asian art form. Check out the awesome engagement session here! Enjoy! :-)

MEET THE TEAM!

---
Good news, dear readers! Vatel Manila is now moving closer to launching {etc} Handmade Goodness, our DIY arm, and what better way to do this than by revealing the creatives behind the brand!

When {etc} was established this 2011, it was envisioned to bring to Manila the unique American experience of having items handmade and customized for every wedding. Armed with the experience of having their way at their own weddings (uhm, well, not in everything!) and having handcrafted a lot of the items themselves, 5 former brides (4 got wed in 2010, 1 in 2009) came together to form {etc} Handmade Goodness. They come from different backgrounds: the medical field, two are in IT, in real estate, and the only lawyer is currently a Mom, too!. How awesome is that? :-)

Soon, as the demand expands, {etc} will open to Sellers - talented brides (& grooms!) who are also into craft & DIYs who might want to sell their creations to future couples. We'll also eventually open our {etc} HOME line starting with pretty throw pillows and hand-carved items. Indeed, nothing makes a wedding (or a home) truly special than by having certain items handmade and customized. :-)

Here's looking forward to working with you all soon!

- Dylan, Aecy, LA, Grace, Mishi, & Cel <3

REAL WEDDING: ROD + AILEEN

---
Here's a wedding that took almost a year to plan and a long-distance one at that. Shuttling between Sydney and Manila, bride Aileen made sure everything would look perfect for her January wedding in Antipolo and indeed, that's how it turned to be! There's pure awesomeness written all over these photographs, and the sunset was just too beautiful to miss, bathing the couple in its soft light.

It reminds us of Rabindranath Tagore who once said,"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky."

We think that's what two people become to each other the moment they say 'I Do.' Ain't that a sweet thought? :-)

The bridal bouquet was made out of lavender Cool Water Ecuadorian roses, white Wax Flowers, Snapdragon, and two shades of Eustoma (Lisianthus). The loose arrangement gives it a definitive SoCal feel. :-)
