BLAST FROM THE PAST: SYDNEY & RENETTE

Came across Studio A Photography's coverage of this wedding. I was teary eyed with the song, WHEN GOD MADE YOU by Newsong, feat. Natalie Grant. One of the best non-mainstream love song I've ever heard. It made me feel sad, too, about being in the wedding industry where couples come and go. Nakaka-miss din pala the e-mail exchanges, the bantering, the interminable SMS kulitan. *sighs*

BLAST FROM THE PAST: GINO & IVY

I have long waited for these photos to be posted at Andy Samaniego's blog and here they are at last! I recall with fondness this September 12 wedding. One of Vatel Manila's favourite in recent memory. Oh, if it only weren't raining! :-)

Came across
this wonderful video by Phoeben Teocson of Gilbert & Sharon. I remember it as a tearjerker from start to finish. Really lovely day! :-)

BLAST FROM THE PAST: GELO & JELL-O

Ha ha! You'd never really know what'd come up if you were pursigido enough. As they say, good things come to those who wait and it's been worth it - waiting for these photos, I mean.

Now that I think about it, I can't really recall when this event actually happened (from the top of my head; I'm so bad with names and dates!), but I do recall several things: the stress level, the rain that never came, interminable changes to the details of the setup - but photos say something else, of course.

Here's to Marcel Lainez for capturing all that is true, good, and beautiful about this event. See the rest of the photos here and our own humble coverage here.

BLAST FROM THE PAST: ALI & ROSE

Once again, was surfing the net today when I discovered this video of Vatel Manila's first-ever foray into church wedding styling - that of Ali and Rose's at the St. Pancratius Church of the venerable Paco Park in Manila last December 29, 2008.

I honestly feel that the video suffered from poor lighting and is above average at best for something that was edited on the spot. I am pretty sure the final cut would see enhanced quality in terms of color vibrancy and visual effects. Too bad there's no chance to see that anymore. Anyhow, wow! I can't believe I was actually able to live through this experience (read: December = super stress!!!).

Here's the
video by 30fps Digital Video if the one below doesn't play.

BLAST FROM THE PAST: ROLAN & JEN

We were surfing the net last night for photos of our events by guests and photographers and came across this beautiful coverage of a really successful garden wedding last December 5, 2008. Had it not been for the threat of rain, this setup would have been a tad nicer without the tent, but under the trained eye of photographers like Joel Francisco, what you get are photos as amazing as these. More here & and our own humble coverage here.

BLAST FROM THE PAST: MEL & JOANNE

Oh, here's another blast from a more recent past, that of Mel and Joanne's. This was by Director's Cut who had to share - and vie for - precious photography space with Jun Valbuena. It was like a cockfight. Proof of this is the presence of at least one Valbuena staff (in dark blue polo) in almost every Director's Cut video still above. It was, to say the very least, fun to watch.

Wait! Watch their nice, touching AVP here! For our own (zombiesque) coverage of the event, view it here.

Anyway, I just discovered today through Yin Valientes that there are more photos here and here! Aaaaiiiieeeee!!!!

BLAST FROM THE PAST: JUANCHO & MYRTLE

Egad! The ghosts of weddings past have come to haunt me! ^_^ Here are some photos from our March 10, 2007 wedding here at the Farm. The montage are by Ariel Javelosa. Found them today while I was Googling for photos of past events. Nakakatuwa! I distinctly remember that altar backdrop. We never used it again, although it did look great as the sun was going down.

Our own coverage of the event is here. Click on photos to enlarge. ^_^
