JAMERO - ESTABILLO (June 8, 2008)

As I write this entry, I am just about to keel over from sheer exhaustion. I have been wearing the same clothes for close to 24 hours, I haven't had a wink of sleep, and this wedding started at 6.30AM. If you think early morning weddings are nice (and without a doubt it's true), try investigating hard enough and you'd find suppliers looking like raccoons from sheer lack of sleep making sure everthing you've always wished for come true. And with this in mind, I dedicate this entry to this event's coordinator, Yin Valientes, whose unfailing need for answers started an email relationship between her and Vatel Manila as early as February of this year. And while I looked like I was about to affix my face (and my entire body, if you please) to the ground or floor any minute now, she looked fresh and radiant as ever. Drat. One can't really have everything.

The ceremony started at 6.30 A.M sharp. We didn't expect a lot of guests to actually show up; I mean today being a Sunday and all, but everybody did show up!

I didn't get to witness the proceedings, but when I came back to the Farm the wedding was just about wrapping up. Special thanks to M.S. for this photo and for the next three more below.

Here's the sweet duo making funny faces at the video camera (it's on a crane; amazing! By Director's Cut).

The setup really looked nice with the warm sun just coming up. This arrangement continues to be charming even if it's been used so many times before. This is because it's the really the couple - and the rites - that makes a wedding truly special.

"525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life? How about love? How about love? How about love? Measure in love. Seasons of love." (from the musical RENT). This was their recessional song. Awww...

All-time favorite of young and old alike: the chocolate fountain!
Generational gap.

We wish the couple a great honeymoon in Bali and a happy married life in Singpore! (Artwork by Joseph Cunanan, a friend of the couple)

Thank you, dear God, for imperfections for they hold within them the promise of better things to come.

FLOWERS FOR THE JAMERO -ESTABILLO NUPTIALS

This is already familiar to you. This is the third time we've been doing this kind of arrangement and until someone asks for them again, the last. For this early morning exercise, what could be more pleasurable to the sleepy senses than butter yellow and white Gerberas? It's like breakfast in a bouquet. That is, until the guests finally got to the buffet table. Snapdragons, Queen Anne's Lace, Kamuning (Murraya paniculata) fillers and tree/tiki fern wrap completed the ensemble.
For the hair of the flower girls, green Carnations with benito leaves.
For the bridal bouquet, a busy mix of green Ecudarian roses, million star (Gypsophila) and green berries.
Finally, on this BMW, the usual suspects. :-)
